… which is the best thing a future can be, I think." Virginia Woolf
I have been immersed in Rebecca Solnit's writing for the past year or so,
dipping in
and out.
She has much to say
about the generative nature of darkness,
and traveling into it, eyes wide open
and hands extended --
to discover, break a fall, define space.
Fancifully, I am calling my near future/January
My Indigo Adventure.
The only thing I can identify,
emerging dimly from the shadows,
is blue.
I suspect other colors
and some shapes
and textures as well,
will materialize,
having germinated and grown
silently
in the dark future.
